Well, every government of every country in the history of the world has killed innocent men.
grewil2 (October 30th, 2008 @ 8:13 am)
How about innocent men?
Beanfold (October 22nd, 2008 @ 6:25 pm)
Agreed, but killing innocent women and children is totally unacceptable, circumstances are irrelevant.

If it wasent Hitler it would have been someone else. The versailles treaty absolutly crippled the german people and was a slap in the face. Hitler did what had to be done for his people. First the wiermar sign the worst treaty known to man , the british continue a blockaid that pevents food from getting to germans , france occupies germany from 1923-1925 and rapes germany . These are examples. I would have done the same thing as Hitler, at least the first 2 years.

... and if we don't get our faces out of the TV and if we fail to resist the encroachment of corporatism (even via Internet), we will lose that jewel and the millions of dead of the 20th century will have indeed been entirely in vain.

murphicus... thanks for posting this. I also saw the series when I was around 15/16 in London. It should be required seeing to make people understand how fragile democracy can be. There is no space for long debates here, and most people tend to have the mentality and language of SA toilet cleaners, but there are definitely paralells to be made with today's political spirit. One of the most precious things to come from the beastly World Wars was some form of democracy, labour rights, etc...

hehe you sir are an idiot, you compared the usa to nazi germany...lolol?
M55ikael (July 30th, 2008 @ 11:52 am)
Hehe. How are you so ignorant? What I said was that the German people of the 30's are really easy to criticize with hindsight. While all they did was buy into misleading propaganda, sort of like you did with the election of President Bush. When they elected Hitler it wasn't apparent that he would perform a coup d'état, start a new world war and kill millions of people. Again, my point wasn't to criticize the US, but point out that it is really easy to judge people with hindsight bias.

How is it basically the same thing "M55ikael"??? How is the United States anywhere near similiar to Nazi Germany?? Do you just say random stupid things about America so other Euros think your cool? lmao
