I like both, but I prefer Del's version of this song to Jimmy Jones. A little more hard driving or something.

This is so great to see,his version is the best with lots of go,I still have a crush on you Del, ever since -63 when I first discovered you and got my first record of you, oh youth where did you go? I´ll always love you, caro

I far prefer Jimmy Jones' 1960 version to this, there's a reason Del's version only went to #22 and Jimmy's went all the way to #2, it's got a lot more feeling in my oppinion! But I much prefer Del Shannon's version to James Taylor's, you can't compare exciting artists from the late'50's and early '60's, to boring folk singers from later on!

As Jimmy Jones had a very distinctive voice, so did Del Shannon. A real treat to see footage of him doing this #22 hit from 1964.

norbellini, thanks again for posting this wonderful footage of Del! Where did the footage originally come from? It wasn't by any remote chance the show that Lee Alan produced and was hoping to go national with, was it?

Yeah, he was well good. Great version but I did love Jimmy Jones original too. Those two plus Frankie Valli would have made a good falsetto line-up.
