Ok I guess you know everything. Sorry to insult you. I don't know what you are saying but you can buy a new Harley here in America for a hell of a lot less that that

And before you say plastic crap again, what are the Bat-wing fairings and luggage on a HD made of? Metal? Nope. Jap designed bikes are just a fact of evolution. HD started it all and I'm greatful. But my money gets spent on the best products not an image or reputation. Here in Canada with our dollar kicking the US buck's ass, you can buy a HD that was $38K 3 years ago for $24K now with dollar equality. Thats new, not used! Poor bastards that paid $38K, they'll never break even. :(

I guess you don't know much about bikes my friend. Honda's Shadows (and others)are made in the USA, by Americans, with metal made in America, not one single part isn't made in the USA. Other than the name that originally came from Japan, it's an American bike. Harley's made in the last 10 years wouldn't have what I would call "craftsmanship". Thats why the custom chopper market is so hot.

how is a Honda all American made? that makes absolutely no sense. You know something I don't then I guess. The difference in a Honda and a Harley is craftsmanship. pure metal Harley to mostly plastic jap crap. Think about that

Seems like A LOT of work for 130-140hp.

Then you should buy a Honda cruiser. At least they are made with 100% American made parts. HD's are about 35% Jap parts now. Don't believe me? Go to an HD partsroom and ask to look around to see how many boxes say "Made in Japan". My wife rides a cruiser and when I buy one it'll be a 100% "Made in USA" bike.

yeah why the hell would i want to ride my harley on a damn race track anyways. its about the open rode. Not popping wheelies and fag shit like that. I would hate to ride something that makes me look like i'm taking a shit while i'm riding it
nosleraccubond (February 13th, 2008 @ 6:48 am)
...or how well it brakes, or turns at the track, or goes without adding oil.....
ballsdeep72 (February 12th, 2008 @ 8:51 pm)
to hell with your plastic jap crap. who gives a shit how fast it is.

I did. Repaired police Harleys for the last 10 years. Have to test ride them after repairs. They're not very refined. Constant nagging little problems that would bankrupt me to keep one on the road. My bike was lasered on the track at 179 mph. They never did give the speeds of those "records".

Your CBR is typical Honda. It does its job admirably and effectively. But it has no soul.
The HD's 140HP is at the flywheel and the 120 was rear wheel. Enough HP to set 2 land speed records. How many do you have with your bike? Zero. I though so. How speeds compare to similar vehicles under LSR rules is a much better indication of relative performance levels.
FYI, I've got a ZZR1200 Kaw with 146HP at the rear wheels.
The appeal of HD's is in the building. Try it, you might like it.
