Furthermore she can play and sing while playing some fairly difficult stuff. That's the thing. Very few drummers are also vocalists because it is inherently difficult to play drums and sing. Trust me I've tried.

She actually studied drumming. She has technique and plays like a jazz drummer. That's why she's a real drummer unlike most rock n'roll drummers who really usually rely on brute force and learn by watching but really can't play anything else but rock. Not dissing anybody but Karen is really far better than a lot of famous rock and roll drummers out there. She can play rock but they can't play jazz, samba and all the other stuff she can play.

Sexist, but yes, Im a drummer but this girl just kicked my ass. I got kicked in the ass by karen carpenter with this video! Any modern drummer will get his ass kicked!!!

great.... never expected to see that Karen has such this talent... very few singers can also bang the drums like this... perhaps if Karen lived enough to make a duet (drums / voice) with Phil Collins that song would had been crazy.... :D

karen Carpenter broke the mold and paved the way for many female drummers you see today but till this day she is the best female drummer that ever lived!

Karen was suffering from Anorexia nervosa,an eating habit disorder,and probably died from that too,around 30.If she was alive now and around my age,I would sooner kill myself if I wasn't to marry her.
