Soprano is a type of singing voice, not a nationality. She is an English soprano. You get soprano, mezzo-soprano and contralto for female voices.

Does anyone know where a karaoke or instrumental version of this song can be found for free?

There are a couple translations. The Latin Pie Jesu, qui tollis peccata mundi Dona eis requiem. English Merciful Jesus, you take away the sins of the world eternal rest grant unto them. I had the album as a kid and it was in the Libreto Sweet Jesus, who takes away the sins of the world, grant us peace.

Yes 'Pie Jesu', from Andrew Lloyd Webbers 'Requiem'

It's Pie Jesu, not Requiem.

I still agree with you that Charlotte has a clear voice, but I'm just telling you my opinion... I think Sarah Brightman has (well, had) good control and a very nice vibrato.

I don't care for Charlotte's version of this piece. Her enunciation leaves something to be desired, as well as her phrasing. Sarah Brightman's experience as a singer shows.

I dont know, I like charlottes better. Her voice here sounds pretty nasally or something I dont know. not an expert, but I prefer the very clear tone of charlotte church

It's Pie Jesu.

It's Pie Jesu from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Requiem. This was the first time I ever heard of or saw Sarah Brightman. The video was just so haunting. And sad. I hadn't been enlightened to the Phantom of the Opera yet!
