after effects is only effects. Sony Vegas can greenscreen and that is an editing program. After Effects costs from 1000 dollars or if you have a student discount like me about 800 or 500. If you want great frigging effects and you will have to work hard to master it then go with after effects but if you want edited videos...go with vegas.

how much does after effects cost? and how much sony vegas? whats better anyway? i can't really decide... first i was gonna get after effects, but now reading your comment, i might just go with sony vegas... please help me out with my decision!
