Yes yes, the USA and the bombs. Well why thank USA? Constant threath of nuclear holocaust? No thanking in that.

I did not forgot about the US people. I know that its due to the US people that Germany had the chance after WW2 do become a real democracy. Roosevelt already had signed the Morgenthau plan but due to heavy protest from the US citiziens it was rejected and the Marshal plan took over. And the Marshal plan was the best politics Germany ever head since it existed as a united nation. Reagan knew that Germany was not the battlefield anymore because he won the arm race with russia, Russia was bankrupt

Thanks to the British and French, eh? Hmmm.... do the words "Tear down this wall" mean anything to you? How about the unparalleled technological achievements of the United States during the Cold War? I have no doubt that the French and British played a major role in Western Europe's deterrent force, but without the nuclear arsenal of the USA, all of Europe would currently be part of a larger USSR.
It is amazing how easy it is to forget America's contributions to recent history.

Yes and my point is clear then. It was the germans fault that their country was split in to west and east germany.
goldenchocolate (December 31st, 2008 @ 7:34 pm)
yes but then we're just going back to the point of at what point exatly the germans supported hitler and his ideologies...seriously, this is starting to become an endless, pointless circle
matt87pl (December 31st, 2008 @ 7:21 pm)
Most of them at least. Also most of the people followed Hitler until things started to turn bad for them.
goldenchocolate (December 31st, 2008 @ 7:09 pm)
yes, and that was 1 of the civilians' problems: hitler had the high-ranking officers at his side.

The did not have enough HIGH power officials that would join them. Yes Hitler not dying was also a part of it, but the operation was already in place right after the explosion. Especial in France were many Nazi officials were being arrested, but there were too little people on their side for them to make a resistance to over throw Hitler and the Nazi's, because most people would die for Hitler and never betray him.
goldenchocolate (December 31st, 2008 @ 6:02 pm)
it wasnt simply "not enough people wanted hitler dead", it was that the operation had to be kept secret at all costs...they couldn't just put posters on the streets "Who wants to kill Hilter? Call me at 555-5555"...and the main reason it failed is simply that hitler survived the explosion

I have to admit that the report was connected to a world wide conspiracy theory, but it made sense all the way. We are doing circles here,I agree that the Nazis started in Germany, but the Germans were not created by the Nazis, and the Nazis were not created by the germans, they were supported by many mighty international people. The genocide was a betrayal at the german nation. The jews did enrich our culture and many fought and died in WW1. Chamberlain should have read the book prior his talks

Aha and you know about those documents how? Germans sure as hell did not opposed anti semetisim
