Was there ever a voice that touched the heart & soul like KAC's? (rhetorical) The sincerity, honesty, purity, & yes, even pain she sings with is clearly evident in every song she sang. RIP Karen, you are dearly missed by so many.

Yes those were the days, I use to live in the City of Commerce, next to Vernon and the Carpenters were one of the best during the 70's

memories from 1975. When I worked in city of Vernon. California. while waitting my bus at the corner of Santa fe ave and Pacific Blvd.and carrying mi radio-tape recorder and listening this song "Only Yesterday". almost every day...I love the Carpenters

Richard was born 1946 and Karen was born in 1950.

I love her voice, i sang some of her songs on you tube couldn't help myself! Such a beautiful voice she had and can never be replaced!

An absolutely wonderful song, combined with the remarkable warmth of Karen's voice (the only other singer I can think of who had that quality was Roberta Flack).
