I tried this first with electrical tape but found that the slider was a little stiff, even with grease to lube it. I then did it again using normal brown packing tape (the kind you use the seal up boxes and parcels) and it works a treat. It is slimmer than the electrical tape, nice and sticky and it's slippery too so the slider slides nicely with just a small amount of lube on there.
The slider now works perfectly! Thank you for posting the vid.

Calm down on the question marks kid ;)
The loose slider is a pretty common fault with this phone and the older model, but it is covered by the guarantee from Nokia. =)

Actually it's my dads Win 2000 computer.
Your attention to sounds is awesome. ;)
Yep, that would have been great. :D

I think your Windows 98 computer has errors popping up during this video. You might want to get that looked at. :) Nice video. I cracked my screen on my N95 8gb and had to replace it. Really easy fix, I should have made a video though.

You cut out a small stripe of the tape which you attach to the rail as shown in the video. If you have the rail in front of you it's not hard to understand.
The tape has to stick properly to the rail or it won't last at all and it can't be to thick or else there will be to much friction, which that will tear the tape off.
The tape used in the video is a bit to thick and could have had better glue. I call that specific tape "electrical tape", since it is commonly used with electrical stuff.

hey i need help. honestly i dont really know how the "tape" works and how you're supposed to do it. At All. -_- how do you exactly do it?? wat kind of tape??

Great, super. Wielkie dzięki za filmik.

That is a good idea, but I think it would have to be several layers of pretty tough paint and you would have to mask up most of the rail.
