How many of you are familiar with the coexistence of the Witch murders with the rising male medical western institution of medicine? And in that time of the 1600's who knows what book was the main reference for medical students? If you replace the word Witch with Woman you will understand why.

daveman1500, Amen!
No religious organization can save you.
No amount of works can save you.
No denomination can save you.
Only belief in Christ Jesus can save from hell fire!

The idea that the Catholic Church still exists gives real credibility to the fact of how vile and sinful the world is. Trusting in Christ, the Son of God, is the ONLY way to Heaven and God.

"We have heard, and it has come to our knowledge, not without much displeasure, that certain sons of iniquity...called the Poor People of Lyons or the Waldenses...use all our endeavors...to root up and extirpate such a detestable sect...to rise up in arms against them...and give assistance to the same Archbishops, Bishops...and to the Inquisitor...that they (Waldenses) maybe exterminated and destroyed...to fight manfully against the same hereticks..."
-Pope Innocent VIII, Papal Bull, 1487

Concerning the Cathari, who were similar to the Waldenses, near the end of the twelfth century "The Dominican Rainerius gave 4,000,000 as a safe estimate of their number and declared this was according to a census made by the Cathari themselves" [Philip Schaff, History of the Christian Church, 8 volumes (Grand Rapids, MI: Eerdman's, 1910; reprint, 1978), Volume V, Chapter X].
Of course nearly all of the Cathari were killed.

Catholic historian Vergerius admits gleefully that during the Pontificate of Pope Paul IV (1555-1559) "the Inquisition alone, by tortures, starvation, or the fire, murdered more than 150,000 Protestants."

Argument 2d. ' Experience shows that terror is not effective.' I reply, EXPERIENCE PROVES THE CONTRARY—FOR THE DONATISTS, MANICHEANS, AND ALBIGENSES WERE ROUTED, AND ANNIHILATED BY ARMS.
- Robert Bellarmine (Catholic), Disputationes de Controversiis, Tom. ii, Lib. III, cap. XXII, "Objections Answered," 1682 edition.

" Tis God alone who pardons...We must confess our sins without delay, We must amend with weeping and repentance...If we love and follow Jesus Christ..." Waldensian Tract,"Nobla Lecon"1100 AD. Sounds like good Baptists to me!

"But this ought they to do who are Pastors, They ought to preach to the people, and pray with them, And feed them often with divine Doctrine; And chastize the Sinners with Discipline, Viz. by declaring they ought to repent."-Waldensian Tract,"Nobla Lecon", 1100 AD

"That all the Popes which have been from Sylvester to present, And all Cardinals, Bishops, Abbots, and the like, Have no power to absolve or pardon, Any creature so much as one mortal sin; Tis God alone who pardons, and no other."-Waldensian Tract, Noble Lesson, 1100 AD.
ziggy2sound4u (March 9th, 2008 @ 11:25 am)
"O Brethren, give ear to a noble lesson. We ought always to watch and pray...The honour of God the Father ought to be his first moving principal...These three (the holy Trinity)as being but one God, ought to be called upon...The Scripture saith, and it is evident...And they (catholics) find occasions by lies and by Deceit, to take from him(Waldensian)that which he has gotten by his just labour."-extracts;"Nobla Lecon",1100 AD
