WOW! from watching this video I learned good tips I am going to make a fondant cake for the first time I wanted to know what kind of icing is used under the fondant? and what do you use for different fondant texture effects?

There are several on the market, northwoodsfroggy. Robin uses pettinice white rolled fondant, made by bakels. You could try making some. PirateFan308 posted a recipe in this comment thread some ways back. I haven't tried it. Has anyone else?

Robin dabs a little water on the back of each before attaching it to the fondant on the cake. The tubes (the ones that hold up the top layers) are from a floral supply. You can use other straws, just make sure they are not too flimsy. Does that answer your questions?
