your in the uk, a good tip is using a flexible pipe to connect the cold main to the bottom of the float valve, however beware of cross thredding

ok, kinda funny...I did what you said and since you didn't say reattach the supply line, well I didn't. Turned the water back on, guess what happened...LOL
